Georgia Bulldogs Coach Kirby Smart Gets Contract Extension

Seasoned energy executive Scott G. Sink received a BBA in risk management & insurance from the University of Georgia. Scott G. Sink remains involved with his alma mater through his position on the Terry School of Business alumni board and enthusiastic support of the UGA Bulldogs football team.

The UGA Athletic Association approved a seven-year contract for the Bulldogs’ head coach, Kirby Smart. The new deal extends Smart’s contract until 2024 and increases his annual salary to $7 million. Smart is now the fifth-highest-paid head coach in college football.
Smart is an alumnus of the University of Georgia, where he played as a defensive back for four years. Before returning to Georgia as a coach, Smart was an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the University of Alabama for nine years.
During the first two seasons under Smart’s tenure, the Bulldogs had a record of 21-7 and won their first SEC title in over a decade.
